DLF 2012 WORKSHOPS
Workshop Presenter Proposal Form

Call for Workshop Proposals:
Deaf Lesbian Festival (DLF) is currently seeking proposals for creative,
innovative and educational conference workshops that will inspire hopes, empower rights and provide practical solutions to Deaf lesbian participants.
Topic Area Possibilities:
Be invigorating! Help us live an “improving future”!
Topic areas can include: Woman’s Health, Mental Health, Lesbian
Professionals, Lesbian Parents/Children, Family Planning/Management,
Spirituality, Advocacy, Education, Leadership, Business, Lesbian Senior
Citizens, Finance, and Many more!
Workshop Specifications:
1. Presentation Length: Workshop time slot may be either 1 hour and
30 minutes OR 3 hours in length and should include at least 15 minutes
for the audience to ask questions.
2. Presentation Format: (Creativity encouraged!)
• Presentation: a lecture on a topic of interest or issue.
• Workshop: Hands-on experience to learn and apply new skills
or techniques.
• Panel: 3 to 5 panelist moderating on a debatable topic or issue.
• Workshops given at DLF may not be commercial in nature,
advertising for services or products nor bring monetary gain to
the presenter or bodies she may represent.
3. Call for Proposal Timeline: Deadline for submission of proposal:
March 1, 2012.

4. Criteria of Selection: Workshop proposal, not limited to the above topic area possibilities, will be selected based on the following:
• Quality of the proposal (objectives, organizations, etc).
• Practicality, Provide Solutions, Awareness, and Information that can be utilized in Daily Living.
• Originality, Creativity and Inspiration
• Completion of Proposal Package
(A mini-resume or mini-vita in regards to your experience presenting
lectures or workshops is recommended but not required.)
5. Selection Process: Presenters will be notified by email of acceptance
or rejection of proposal on a continual basis, until slots are filled,
as proposals are received and reviewed. Presenters whose proposals
have been accepted are required to notify Julia Anderson of participation
no later than March 1st, 2012.
Notes: Primary presenter will have the registration fee waived and will be registered at the festival. However, presenter is responsible for her own
travel and lodging expenses. If presenter wants audio-visual equipment, contact the chairperson and we will try to arrange for your needs. If you would like more information, please contact Julia Anderson
